Mons Klint is an area of 6 km stretch of chalk cliffs along the eastern coast of the Danish island of Mon in the Baltic Sea. Some of the cliffs fall a sheer 120 m to the sea below. This area consists of woodlands, pastures, ponds and steep hills, including Aborrebjerg which has a height of 143 m, is one of the highest points in Denmark. Samarkand is the second-largest city in Uzbekistan and the capital of Samarqand Region. Now it is the nation’s third largest, after fast-growing Namangan in the Ferghana Valley. The city is popular for located on the Silk Road between China and the West, and for being an Islamic centre for scholarly study. This city has carefully preserved the traditions of ancient crafts: embroidery, gold embroidery, silk weaving, engraving on copper, ceramics, carving and painting on wood. In 2001, UNESCO added the city to its World Heritage List as Samarkand – Crossroads of Cultures.
